Federation of Welsh Anglers

The Federation of Welsh Anglers is a partnership between the National Governing Bodies for three dimensions of recreational fishing in Wales, sea, coarse and game, namely, the Welsh Federation of Sea Anglers, the Welsh Federation of Coarse Anglers and the Welsh Salmon and Trout Angling Association, and is actively supported by the Environment Agency Wales, and the Sports Council for Wales. The purpose of the FWA is to foster angling unity and promote, develop and preserve the sport of angling within the Principality through undertaking essential angling administration, acting as a focus for communication and uniting together on essential angling issues, and also, by developing a network of coaches and guides for sea, coarse and game fishing throughout the country, providing opportunities for people to fish and to learn to fish and providing a comprehensive summary of information on fishing in Wales, enabling access to the NGBs themselves, angling clubs, fisheries, tackle dealers, charter boats, accommodation, etc. In addition, by tackling the threats to angling today, the exploitation of fish stocks at sea, for example, pollution, habitat destruction, adverse legislation, to name but a few, we will ensure the sport of angling is sustainable and has a bright future for the benefit of generations to come.
