Cardiff Yacht Club
Cardiff Yacht Club was founded in 1900 with the club meeting in the Avondale Hotel, Clarence Road, Butetown. The Marquis of Bute, who owned the docks, presented silver cups to the winners of the races held at the annual reviews and regattas. Today Cardiff Yacht Club is probably the friendliest yacht club in the Bristol channel or even the world. We extend a warm welcome to young, old, rich and poor, and believe that all forms of boating should be affordable for local people in Cardiff Bay.
